Our beef is sourced directly from the producers and dry aged on our premises. The dry ageing process is important as it brings a better flavour to the beef than that of the more common wet aging in cryovac, which in essence is really preserving the beef. This however takes a big commitment as we have many tonnes of beef ageing at any one time. We believe that the three types of beef we have are representative of the best of their type in Australia. Blackmore's Wagyu, Cape Grim and Minderoo all fit into the strict Rockpool philosophy of humane treatment to the cattle. There are no growth hormones used and no antibiotic feed supplements. This is a rare thing in Australia today, particularly with the standard lot fed cattle.

Wine

The wine list at Rockpool Bar & Grill Melbourne showcases a selection from a mix of vineyards. Some are small, unknown producers whom we feel lucky to have come across whilst others are bigger with bold reputations and wines that are highly prized all over the world. What we search for in creating this offering are wines that reflect the people who make them and the land they are raised from.

Fellow vegans, rejoice: These are the latest and best vegan restaurants in the Las Vegas strip. We could go on and on how scrumptious vegan food in Vegas can be, but we'll cut to the chase and let these photos do the talking. We can't wait for you to dig in!

Caesars Palace

Feeling hot, hot, hot. The vegan chile relleno at Mesa Grill is sure to spice up your Vegas trip. Photo by Linda Lindhorst / Total Vegas Blog.

Mesa Grill

Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill is by far, one of the tastiest and most flavorful upscale vegan-friendly spots on the Strip. The flavors are so bold and daring, your taste buds will be like, what just happened here? Start your meal with the soft masa chips (perfect with guacamole), then get ready to dig in for a spicy, yet satisfying ride. Get it while it lasts: Mesa Grill closes its doors for good real soon and will reopen as a new Italian restaurant by Flay.

The cornmeal-crusted vegan-friendly chile relleno is stuffed with black bean paste, white rice, roasted garlic, poblanos, roasted red bell peppers and roasted yellow bell peppers. The topping includes a tomatillo salsa made of red onions, tomatillos, cilantro, lime juice, salt and pepper. This has a bit of a kick, but not so much to where you're fanning your mouth the entire time.

A great accompaniment to the chile relleno is the grilled asparagus, drizzled with a dijon lime sauce. We'll take seconds… and thirds….

Rao's

Mamma mia! These vegano Italiano dishes are sure to excite your taste buds at Rao's, Caesars Palace's fine Italian restaurant.

You can get any of the pasta noodles (they are egg-free) with the restaurant's signature marinara sauce. Just make sure to request with no cheese. The salsa alla marinara is made with San Marzano tomato sauce and fresh basil. Pick your pasta (rigatoni, spaghetti, linguini, fusilli, penne or angel hair), or you can even opt for zucchini noodles for a healthier option.

  • Cannellini bean hummus topped with micro cilantro and toasted garlic pita bread (make sure to request no butter on bread)
  • Roasted red peppers: Fire-roasted red bell peppers marinated in garlic olive oil with golden raisins, pine nuts and Italian parsley. This actually isn't on the menu, but it can be ordered as its own dish.
  • Roasted beet salad: Wild baby arugula, golden raisins, roasted beets and pistachios (omit the goat cheese crumbles). The balsamic vinaigrette does have honey, so swap with straight balsamic vinegar and /or olive oil.
  • Pizzaiola: This sauce tastes great over grilled eggplant or grilled veggies. It comes with sauce tomatoes, yellow bell peppers, Spanish onions, garlic, oregano, basil and extra version olive oil.
  • Eggplant parmesan: Nix the parmesan and mozzarella and replace with pizzaiola sauce. Comes with a wild arugula salad on top.
  • Sautéed vegetables: Choice of spinach, French beans, zucchini and broccolini. Make sure to specify you are vegan because some veggies are cooked in chicken broth.

Jaburritos

Can't decide between sushi or burritos? Lucky for you, Jaburritos at The LINQ Promenade does both. For $10, you can get the Venice, which comes with your choice of Gardein steak or tofu, avocado, roasted corn and beans, cucumber, romaine lettuce and pico de gallo and sweet chilli sauce. I opted to get it in a bowl (I'm a messy eater), but you can order this as a burrito in seaweed (nori) paper, soy paper or a flour tortilla. For the bowl, you can choose from white sushi rice, brown rice or mixed greens with ponzu dressing. For an extra $2 ($1 during happy hour), you can order a side of spicy or salted edamame.

Haute Doggery

Haute diggity dog! Head to Haute Doggery at The LINQ Promenade and get your fix. The bun is not vegan, but the veggie dogs are, so you can still get your fix. For something healthy, you can get the California dog vegan style, sans the 1000 Island dressing. This comes with avocado, tomato, cucumber and sprouts. For something a lot more hearty, you can customize your own from a variety of toppings. Ketchup, mustard, jalapeños, onion and celery salt are free. For $1 each, you can add kraut, tomato, cucumber, green chilis, grilled onions, sprouts, roasted tomato, arugula or olive relish (avocado for $1.75).

Off The Strip

Don't let the name fool you – this Off The Strip location actually in the center of Vegas Strip! The kale with hearts of palm salad is one for the books, whether you're vegan or not. It comes with sliced kale, hearts of palm, toasted almonds and craisins. The salad does come with a lemon honey dressing, but you can swap it for balsamic dressing (or olive oil and vinegar). We'll tell you right now that you won't be leaf-ing anything behind.

NachoDaddy

Done laughing at the name yet? It's OK. We giggle every time we look at it too. But Nacho Daddy at Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile Shops has us smiling for another reason: Its vegan menu is ginormous. A fan favorite is the vegan chick'n quesadillas, which comes complete with a side of guacamole, pico de gallo and vegan sour cream.

The Nacho Daddy in Vegas is the only place you can get a vegan fajita bowl. This comes with marinated chick'n fajita peppers and onions, wild rice, black beans, salsa, guacamole, vegan sour cream and shredded lettuce, all served in a crispy tortilla shell.

Doughp

We're going to leave you on a sweet note with Doughp at Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile Shops. Here you can eat cookie dough, all without worrying about harming your tummy. That's because there are no raw eggs in it. While most of the options have butter infused in it, there is a special vegan, nut-free and gluten-free option called #VeganLyfe. Top it with crumbled Oreo bits and you are good to go. Choose from one, two or three scoops, with fun names like Self Control, Legit or Fully Commit, respectively. We gotta say we respect this heavenly sweet treat.

Vegan Food Hacks

If you're with a group and end up going to a restaurant not listed here, don't worry – there's hope beyond an iceberg lettuce salad and fruit plate. Chefs can take the challenge and appreciate the heads up early in advance.

  • Gordon Ramsay BURGER has a delicious Impossible Burger option. If you haven't tried it yet, the flavor will trick your omnivore friends. You'll second guess it yourself. Add all the veggie fixings and eat it protein-style since the bun has an egg wash.
  • Don't go the boring salad route (unless there's already an impressive salad on the menu, then you're golden!). Ask if you can have veggies sautéed in olive oil and spices with a side of potatoes.
  • If you're eating Italian, ask if the noodles are made with eggs. If not, then you're usually safe with a house-made marinara (always ask to make sure). Dress it up with garlic and parsley and we bet your omni friends can't keep their forks away from your plate.
  • A lot of Asian restaurants can accommodate. Ask them to leave out fish sauce or ask if the meal you want is prepared with a meat-based broth. Soy sauce and peppers do the trick and you can enjoy plenty of meat-free plates. The rice paired with veggies and / or noodles is sure to fill you up!
